I’ve seen, and been part of a few house demolitions now, but on Saturday we completed the first one that I’d been on from start to finish. The house was pretty big compared to others in the jungle, and seeing how you’d go about pulling one down was pretty interesting.
I’d be lying if I said them actual pull down went exactly to plan, but the walls came down and the roof ended up where we wanted it. On the floor.
After that we cracked on with more demolitions, and we’ve left one hanging till Monday, when we’ll need a few more volunteers to help with the pull. It’s gonna involve pulling the roof down onto wooden beams so it slides a few feet away from the front of the house. It’s a hair brained idea that Bowlin and I were both involved with, so should be a laugh.
On the weekend we mopeded to the nearest town (40 mins away) just to go to the ATM. The ride there was pretty sweet. But on the way back there was some insane rain. We were riding back on rural roads with water half way up the wheels, no visibility and the two of the worst helmets I’ve ever used. Funny though, and we got our cash, so our constant supply of ice creams and chocolate milk can continue.
